Leader is a lead/prospect mailing manager, built with MLMers and network marketers in mind. Leader allows you to keep your company or product fresh in your prospects' minds by sending them a series of email messages over time.

Please note: Leader is not a Windows program, it's a CGI script written in PHP. In order to use Leader, you need to have access to a web server which supports PHP.

New: If you have MySQL on your server, you should use Reminder instead. Reminder is a newer, more powerful version of Leader.

Suggested Use

Leader is intended to be used as a promotional tool for your business. For example, you might want your prospects to receive an "About Our Company" email on day one, an "About Our Products" email on day two, and a "How to Sign Up" email on day three. Maybe you've written a book or series of articles about your industry, and you want your prospects to receive a new chapter or article each week. Leader can do it automatically!

Prominent features of Leader include:

• Sends a series of different prospecting messages to your leads via email over time.
• Supports an unlimited number of messages in your series (please be reasonable and don't bombard your prospects).
• Handles all email sending by reading your predefined email messages in from text files. Forget about that old copy/paste routine! Store your messages once and you're done.
• Keeps track of which people have received which emails, and removes leads from the mailing list after they've received all of the messages.
• Separates your emails by a specific number of days. You can have your prospects receive one email per day, or one message every other day, etc.
• One-click daily processing of messages. Simply access the URL for your installed copy of Leader and click one button to send out all of the day's mailings!
• Easy interface for adding or removing prospects from the database. To add a new lead, simply enter their name and email address. To remove someone, just enter their email address.
• New: Supports recipient self-removal. Prospects who don't want to finish receiving all of your messages can remove themselves from the list with one click. Optionally, you can be notified via email anytime prospects take themselves off the list.
• New: Leader will automatically check for upgrades when you run the script. If an upgrade is available, a reminder will appear on the main Admin screen.

Future features/being developed:

• Leader has been deprecated. New features are being added to Reminder, the successor to Leader.

Requirements

Leader is not a Windows program, it's a CGI script written in PHP and it's meant to be run on web servers. In order to use Leader, you must have PHP 3.0 or higher installed on your web server, as well as access to sendmail. You also need the ability to execute CGI scripts on your server, preferably in any directory (i.e. not just the cgi-bin directory). Many webhosts meet these requirements; if you can't find one that does, check out Host with the Most.

Installing Leader is as easy as uploading the script, setting its permissions, and customizing the template files that it uses. For full installation instructions, see the documentation. If you're not familiar with CGI scripts and you feel uncomfortable installing Leader yourself, I can install it for you at a charge of $10. I will need FTP access to your web server in order to do this; if you'd like to have me install it, please send me an email.

Registering Leader

Leader is $10.00 shareware. If you install and use it, you are obligated to register it. The downloadable version of Leader is not crippled in any way. I don't believe in forcing people to pay for software; however, if you do make use of Leader I'm trusting you to pay for it. If gradual mailings with Leader help you to recruit even one new prospect into your business, Leader will have already paid for itself. Consider it a sound investment.

By registering Leader, you will obtain a One-Site License which allows you to install as many copies of Leader as you like on a single website. If you plan to use Leader on several different websites, you should purchase a new license for each site.
