BatchSubmit is
an easy, cheap way to automatically submit bulk URLs to search engines. If you
run a large website, or even if you run multiple small websites, you know what
a hassle it is to get yourself submitted... And despite what they say, many
search engines never go further than your index page if that's all you tell
them about. Maximize your exposure by submitting your entire site in bulk!
Note: BatchSubmit
has not been maintained since late 2002. It is likely outdated and may not be
effective. Registration fees have been lifted.
Requirements:
- PHP 4.0
or newer
- PHP must be compiled
with sockets support (this is the default in 4.x)
Features
BatchSubmit will
automatically submit your list of URLs - as many as you want - to the following
six major search engines:
In turn, your URLs
will wind up being passed along to numerous other search engines. As an example,
the Direct Hit engine syndicates their results to other major search engines and
portals like ATT Worldnet, AOL, ICQ, MSN, etc.
Using BatchSubmit
is simple. All you have to do is create a list of the URLs you'd like to submit.
Put this list in a file called urls.txt in the same directory as the installed
script, then access the script through your web browser. Choose the search engines
you'd like to submit to, and click Submit URLs. It's that easy! The script handles
the rest, providing real-time statistics about your submissions. When the submission
is complete, BatchSubmit prints out an easy to read graph displaying successes
and failures. You can view a sample output page.
Update History:
- 3/31/02: Removed Excite and HotBot since
they are no longer accepting free submissions; added Google and SplatSearch. I
am looking for suggestions for more search engines to add, since the big players
seem to be moving toward paid submission.
- 10/30/01: First
public release
TODO:
- Monitor search
engine submission schemes, and accomodate any changes made by search engines.
